CONTENT The International
Association of Canine Professionals & PETCO Presents: Rescue and Foster Seminar on Dog Behavior and
Rehabilitation Methodology When: Saturday, July 16th,
2011; 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm (formal presentations); 4:00 to 5:00 pm. Discussions
and individual working groups. Where: Petco Training Room, 1250 William D.
Tate Avenue, Suite #200, Grapevine, Texas 76051 What: The event is a seminar presentation
of Canine Behaviorist and Rehabilitator Nelson Hodges, IACP Professional, Arlington,
TX.; Crista Meyer, IACP Professional Member, Canine Training and Health Expert,
IACP, Houston, TX.; Dean Miller, IACP Professional Member, Canine Training and
Behavior Expert, Houston, TX.; Summer
Milroy, IACP, Remote Collar Trainer, Dallas, TX; and Mark Hoffman, IACP, Trainer,
Dallas, TX. The Seminar will focus on the behavior, signals, language and
understanding of canines, as well as results oriented discussions of training
and working with canines. The purpose is to help Rescues Groups, Fosters and
Volunteers of Rescue Groups to be better facilitators of care and
rehabilitation of Canines. This provides calmer, well behaved and better
balanced dogs to the public and helps with adoption of canines, rather than the
purchasing of more puppies from non-reputable locations (proper breeders
excluded of course). Rescue groups, and their volunteers are the front line of
recovering dogs from untenable situations, and kennel craziness. This seminar
will help rescue groups and fosters to be more aware of actual conditions and
behaviors, what they mean from the canine’s standpoint, how to better correct
behaviors without conflict, and how to recognize and match up both fosters, and
final adoption families with a particular personality and type of dog. Cost: Absolutely Free to any and all
rescue groups and their volunteers and fosters. Space is
limited to only 50 attendees, so you must RSVP to Nelson Hodges, IACP
Professional Member at k9content@gmail.com. If you are considering fostering
for an organization, we will make sure that, should there be space left, we
will accommodate you. We welcome ACOs and volunteers with municipal facilities
as well. The IACP
Regional Group is in planning stages for a series of these seminars in DFW,
Austin, and Houston. However, do not miss this one or the combination of these
professionals. Houston is planned to be the next location for this series of
seminars.

Dog Trainers’
Connection presents…
“YOU DO!” Eric
Goebelbecker, CPDT-KA Broadway Mall Community
Center In 2007, Eric Goebelbecker, launched his first
website online for his dog training business.
He spent a year redesigning it and several thousand dollars in on and
off-line advertising sending out press releases – but he saw virtually no
business from the web or online. Then in 2009, Eric learned about blogging and
social media. He now sees a few hundred
unique visitors to his site every day and has more clients than his part-time
training business can handle. He’s
networking with trainers around the world, has gotten an opportunity to set up
classes at a new location, as well as being brought to the attention of several
veterinarians in his area. How did he do
this? In this workshop, Eric will show you how he used
social media and blogging to help his business grow, and how you can use it to
help yours. He’ll also give you tips on
what information to put on your website to engage customers so that it becomes
a go-to place for information. This is a
workshop you and your business can’t afford to miss! Topics covered in the workshop: What
exactly is social media and what makes it so special? What
makes social media so normal? Why you should fit social media into
your marketing plans. CPDT and

After
adopting a puppy that was a “bit of a handful”, Eric Goebelbecker, CPDT-KA discovered modern dog training via
classes at St. Hubert’s Dog Training School, experiencing first
hand what can be done with dog-friendly techniques. Eric owns and runs Dog Spelled Forward while also working as
software engineer on Wall Street. Eric started working closely with rescue dogs
8 years ago as a volunteer and decided that he wanted to change careers almost
on the spot. Since then he has attended several advanced apprenticeships,
courses, and seminars, worked as a trainer at Best Friends Pet Care in NY, and
still teaches at St. Hubert’s Dog Training School. As a software engineer and technology
executive Eric has worked on or around Wall Street for 20 years. He co-founded
a small company that changed the way market data is distributed to financial
institutions. He has also worked as a systems engineer designing and installing
trading floors for several major banks and financial institutions, was the
Director of Systems Engineering for Telerate, and has run several development
teams. Eric is also a regular blogger at Dog Star Daily and a member of the
Board of Directors of the International Association of Animal Behavior
Consultants. Eric’s website is: www.dogspelledforward.com Date and
